Background and History
Bell Equine Services was started 5 years ago when Karen arrived in Richmond from Texas where she trained under Virginia Neal Ellis (Equestrian Ventures, Inc.) and J. Ashton Moore. Adding dressage and natural horsemanship to her hunter background, Karen has been training horses for 20 years and currently shows locally. Her focus is on training green horses and teaching students to learn training techniques that allow them to improve their mounts on the flat and over fences. Karen is a free lance writer for local and regional horse magazines and organizations and is also a member of the US Hunter Jumper Association (USHJA), United States Dressage Federation (USDF), and the Virginia Dressage Association (VADA) Central Chapter. She is nationally certified by the American Riding Instructors Association (ARIA) in dressage, hunter seat and stable management and was recently awarded the USDF University Certificate.
