Lessons
School horses are available at Quarterfield Stables in Powhatan, Virginia. Please call for current lesson openings. Students are expected to learn proper horsemanship on the ground and under saddle as part of their lesson. Download safety rules here . PRE-PAID LESSON PACKAGES (to use in one month)
School horse rates (per student):
$500/10-pack 1 hour private
$300/5-pack 1 hour private
$300/10 pack 30 min private or 45 min semi-private
$175/5-pack 30 min private or 45 min semi-private
Leasee or owner rates:
$275/5-pack 1 hour private
$150/5-pack 30 min private or 45 min semi-private
Please note : Lessons must be paid for at the beginning of each month the day of your first lesson and must be used by the end of that month. A rescheduled lesson cancelled because of weather or by the student must be completed within the same month. In the case that a weather cancellation would occur in the last week of the month, make-ups will be scheduled for the following week. Lessons not used within the month are forfeited. There are no cancellation fees for pre-paid lessons.

Leasees or students who ride their own horses will get the $5 discount/lesson.
CLINIC RATES
On-site clinics are available for stables located within 1 hour of Richmond city. A minimum of 4 lessons must be scheduled/day. Facilities must have fenced, preferrably level, riding arena. Horses must be UTD with annual dental exams in addition to having regular hoof care to enter the clinic. Clinic participants must pre-pay. Clinic Lessons: $60/45 min
